A connection between the Christmas and the new year?

Disclaimer: I am not a Christian by birth or belief but I always fascinated by the stories and the theories that come with various religions around the world. What I am going to tell is completely a thought of mine and I have no intention of making any harm or disrespect to any religion.

Why January 1st  is the beginning of the year?

You may have seen the memes where aliens mock at humans as we celebrate completing one orbit around the sun but since childhood I wondered why it has to be January 1st because it could have been any day in the year. The ancient Roman calendar began with March 1st and they even didn't have the months January and February.

The Holy Bible.

I always wanted to read the Holy Bible even though I am not Christian by belief or birth and I started to read the old testament and I found out that it took six days for the God to create the world and he completed it by the seventh day.

The Christmas always is on 25th  December and 7 days from Christmas is 1st  January and I like to think this is not a co-incidence. In the Book of Genesis we had a new world by the 7th  day and I think considering January 1st  as the beginning of a new year closely re-assembles this.

However, I have not yet done an in-depth search for this and I hope to update this article as soon as I find new information.

If you know anything about this, please share with me so that I can share it on this blog too.
